[E] Numbers and their meaning

[E01] Error loading settings
  • This error is almost always followed by [E13] and [E02]
  • There are two reasons why you will see this error
    • You haven't yet configure a game within PyLotRO: Solution use Tools -> Settings Wizard to configure a game
    • Your settings file is corrupt: Solution find the file LotROLinux.config, back it up then delete it and re-run PyLotRO


[E02] No language files found
  • You will normally only see this error along side [E13]: Solution use Tools -> Settings Wizard to configure a game


[E03] Error reading launcher configuration file
  • This error means that the game config file supplied by Codemasters/Turbine can't be read, this file is in the game directory and is called TurbineLauncher.exe.config, see if you can open it with a text editor.
  • You can always ask on the game forum for someone to post a copy of theirs (remember to state EU or US for LotRO)


[E04] Error accessing GLS data centre
  • This normally indicates a network error, normal practice is to close PyLotRO and try again in about 5 minutes


[E05] Error getting world queue configuration
  • This also is normally a network error, again just retry a bit later


[E07] Account details incorrect
  • The user authentication server doesn't recognise the username and password combination, re-type them (case sensitive for password)
  • Passwords are limited to a maximum of 16 characters, however when you create an account you can type over 16 characters but only the first 16 are stored so when you type the longer password into PyLotRO you get an E07 error.


[E08] Server not found - may be down
  • If you see this then the chances are it is maintenance time or the game servers are down for some reason, retry later


[E10] Error getting realm status
  • Again this is normally a network error, retry later


[E11] Error joining world queue
  • Again this is normally a network error, retry later


[E12] Error gettings news
  • If you see this then the fetch request for the latest news timed out, not really an error as all you miss is the latest news


[E13] Game Directory not found
  • This usually occurs with [E01] and [E02]: Solution use Tools -> Settings Wizard to configure a game


[E14] Game account not associated with user account - please visit games website and check account details
  • Bit of an odd error message, with F2P now live the way user authentification works has changed slightly. If you see this then chances are your game account is not linked to your user account: Solution log on to your user account with either Turbine or Codemasters and make sure the game account is linked with it
